NIOSH thanks the Federal Highway Administration for its support of this research; the five paver manufacturers who designed and built prototype engineering controls and provided machines for testing (Blaw-Knox, Barber-Greene/Caterpillar, Cedarapids, Roadtec, and Champion); the hot mix asphalt contractors who performed field evaluations of these control systems (Thompson-McCully Company; Milestone Contractors; Barriere Construction Co., Inc; and Bryn Awel Corporation); and the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America and the International Union of Operating Engineers for their collaboration in this initiative.
